Swagelok is an essential business as defined by the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Please review the updated statement from Swagelok headquarters. 

March 20th, 2020

On March 19th, Governor Newsom of California issued an executive order for citizens of California to stay at home to combat the spread of COVID-19. Exceptions have been included for the 16 critical infrastructure sectors outlined by the Federal Government “whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, economic security, public health or safety, or any combination thereof.”

As a supplier to many of these sectors, San Diego Fluid System Technologies will remain open, pending any unforeseen circumstances, to provide the critical support needed for these sectors to effectively conduct operations. These sectors include, but are not limited to:

  • Transportation Systems including Machinery Manufacturing and Transportation Equipment Manufacturing
  • Defense Industrial Base
  • Energy
  • Healthcare and Public Health
  • Water and Wastewater Systems

The World Health Organization has declared coronavirus (COVID-19) a global pandemic and San Diego Fluid System Technologies and Swagelok are taking measures to minimize possible impacts on our associates, our customers, our operations, and our communities. Guided by our core values, we have and will continue to take actions that protect the health and well-being of our associates and yours which is our number one concern. We are committed to remaining open to ensure we can support our customers as needs arise. Associates who can work from home have been instructed to, in order to limit exposure for essential functions at the facility.  Additionally, our Will-Call area is closed until further notice to limit contact for the safety of our associates and customers.

Out of the abundance of caution, below are the additional immediate actions San Diego Fluid System Technologies has taken. We will continue to monitor the situation and inform you of any changes as they arise.

Internally, we have increased the depth of our daily sanitizing of common areas, encouraging associates to wash hands regularly and stay home if they are sick or returning from an area identified as a coronavirus-related risk, as well as discouraging handshakes or unnecessary personal contact. 

Vendor Managed Inventories: Individual plans for Vendor Managed Inventories are in place based on the needs of the customer, enabling the lowest possible risk of interaction. Our team can work with you on increasing stock levels for risk mitigation to ensure you have the product you need on-hand. If your company is restricting site access, please coordinate with our team so we can determine a plan to ensure your inventory has appropriate stock levels.

Will-Call Pickup/ Walk-Ins: Our Will-Call area is closed until further notice to limit contact for the safety of our associates and customers. Our Customer Service team is happy to assist with orders via phone or email and will have those shipped directly to you.

Onsite Visits: Account managers and customer service representatives will communicate with customers via phone or online communications until the risk of transmission is lowered. In the meantime, our team is available virtually via phone, email, Microsoft Teams, FaceTime and text communication. Again, if your company is restricting site access, please contact us to let us know so we can ensure that your needs are being met.

We understand these precautions may impact the way our companies interact in the coming months, but we want you to know that the health of our associates and customers is of utmost importance.
